As a specialist in functional nutrition, we help people to maintain a balanced diet and improve their well-being. So far we have been developing and marketing products for weight reduction, weight management and high-protein nutrition for more than thirty years. We are growing continuously, also abroad. Our products are available at over 12,000 sales outlets in Germany as well as in more and more European countries such as Switzerland, Austria, Bulgaria, Italy and others.

We create innovative, functional foods out of nutritional trends. Our aim is to provide our customers with a consistent high quality and pleasure. We achieve this through our stable partner network, which uses state-of-the-art technology and preferably produces in Germany or Austria. Fairness and open dialogue with our customers, employees and partners are a matter of course for us as a sign of respect.

Milestones

1989

Founding of today's Layenberger Nutrition Group GmbH as a German subsidiary of the Swiss peeler E. Zwicky AG in Viernheim.

1992

Relocation of the company headquarters to Rodenbach / Kaiserslautern; five employees.

1996

Groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a new office building and warehouse in Rodenbach.

1997

Inauguration of the Rodenbach site; Harald Layenberger moves from managing director to co-partner; Twelve employees.

Layenberger is established as a brand name, and the first product is green tea pastilles.

1999

Entry into the functional nutrition segment, initially with diet products under the Fit+Feelgood brand.

2012

Start of export to Austria and Finland.

2014

Layenberger LowCarb.one is listed at Coop in Switzerland.

Foundation of the Swiss Layenberger Swiss Company GmbH, based in Reinach / Basel, to drive international expansion from there.

Michael Weinand takes over 50 percent of the shares in the new company.

Intensification of Layenberger's sports commitment as the main sponsor of the German Volleyball Association e.V.

2015

Michael Weinand acquires 26 percent of the shares in Layenberger Nutrition Group GmbH.

2016

Layenberger becomes the main sponsor of the traditional second-division soccer club 1. FC Union Berlin.

2017

Move to the new company location in Rodenbach, Am Hühnerbusch 23.
Introduction of the Diet5 diet brand

2018

Layenberger becomes the main sponsor of 1. FC Kaiserslautern in the third Bundesliga soccer league.

2020

Layenberger becomes the main sponsor of SV Sandhausen in the second Bundesliga soccer league.

2021

Michael Weinand takes over 100 percent of the shares in Layenberger Nutrition Group GmbH as part of an entrepreneurial succession.

2022

Layenberger's High Protein Cräkker were awarded the Sweetie Award as Snack of the Year by Lebensmittel-Rundschau.
